Massage for Medical Professionals

$500.00

By definition, medical massage is a therapeutic massage prescribed by a physician and performed following the directives of that physician. Although Medical Massage is a modality normally reserved for licensed massage therapists, in the state of Utah, certain medical professionals are exempted from licensure when providing massage as part of their medical duties. The exemptions include Nurses, Medical Assistants, CNA’s, Chiropractic Assistants, and others who work under the direct supervision of licensed doctors.

A medical massage professional does not refer to any specific treatment method and can include various massage protocols and modalities. Medical massage is outcome-oriented instead of time-oriented where professionals working in hospitals, nursing homes and other medical facilities can facilitate another level of aid to the people they care for.

In its entirety, theMassage for Medical Professionals Program is a 90-hour educational program that is made up of the following:

1. Massage Theory, Techniques and Practice 25 Hours

2. Myofascial Release  (Light pressure) 10 Hours

3. Visceral manipulation  15 Hour

4. Facilitated stretching 10 Hours

5. Mindfulness Breathwork   5 Hours
